Mild Steel
Our most common material. Strong, affordable, and easy to forge and weld.
Best for: Gates, railings, furniture, structural frames
Stainless Steel
Corrosion-resistant and low-maintenance, ideal for wet or coastal environments.
Best for: Marine, kitchens, food service, exterior trim
Aluminum
Lightweight and naturally rust-resistant. Great for large spans and mobile pieces.

Wrought Iron
Traditional blacksmithing material with a distinct grain and historic look.

How a Custom Project Moves Through the Shop

Consultation & Site Visit
We meet with you (in person or by phone) to understand the project. For site-specific work, we take measurements and photos. Most consultations take 30–60 minutes.

Design & Estimate
You receive a written proposal within 3–5 business days — including drawings, material specifications, finish options, and a fixed price. We revise until you're satisfied.

Deposit & Scheduling
A 50% deposit reserves your spot in the shop calendar. We confirm a start date and a target completion window in writing.

Fabrication
We cut, forge, weld, and grind the piece. You receive progress photos at key milestones — usually at layout, mid-fabrication, and post-finish.

Finishing
Depending on the piece, we apply powder coat, galvanizing, oil patina, or another finish. Finishing often takes 5–10 business days due to cure times.

Delivery & Installation
We deliver on our own trucks and install with our own crew. Any field adjustments (fitting around a wall, leveling a base) are handled during install.

Final Walkthrough
We walk the finished work with you, address any touch-ups on the spot, and hand over warranty documentation.

Custom Fabrication FAQ
Can you work from my sketch or drawing?
Absolutely. Rough sketches, napkin drawings, photos of inspiration pieces, or full CAD drawings all work. If you don't have anything yet, our design consultant can help develop the idea.
Do you do small jobs, or only big projects?
We take on jobs of all sizes. A single custom bracket or fireplace tool set is just as welcome as a full architectural package. Our minimum shop order is $250.
How do I know the piece will fit when it's delivered?
For site-specific work, we take physical measurements during the consultation and often create a full-size template for verification before fabrication. If something still doesn't fit at install, we adjust on-site — at no extra charge.
Do you handle permits or engineering?
For structural work, we coordinate with a licensed structural engineer to provide stamped drawings when required by local code. Permit applications are usually the owner's responsibility, but we provide all supporting documentation.
What finishes do you offer?
Powder coat (in any RAL color), hot-dip galvanizing, black oxide, wax/oil patina, brushed finishes, and clear-coat sealers. For specialty finishes we work with local partners to ensure quality.
Do you offer installation?
Yes. Installation is included in most fixed-price quotes. If you prefer to install yourself, we can deliver only and adjust the quote accordingly.
Can you match an existing piece or historic style?
Yes. Matching profile, patina, and finish is one of our specialties — especially for restoration and historic preservation work. Bring us a sample or photo and we'll match it.
